Skivy Dipping

We kicked off my vacation by going camping near Canaan Valley. We had a blast. It was so nice to just relax and hang out together as a family. Our favorite part was a hike we took at the base of Dolly Sods along Red Creek. We waded and played in the water for a while and then the boys finally couldn't resist and stripped down to their underwear and went swimming. Braylon loved it. And so did Drew. Drew spent a lot of time in the Dolly Sods area when he was younger (his family had a camp there) so it brought back a lot of good memories for him and he loved sharing something he always enjoyed with Braylon.

Bray the Builder

Braylon talked to his MaMaw and PaPaw on the phone on Tuesday night and asked in his sweetest voice if they would "come over and play farm" with him. Wednesday morning I got a call from mom asking if we had any plans for later in the week. They came up for a short visit before we head out for vacation. Dad and Braylon built a bee box. Notice that dad is using the pliers to hold the nail while Bray did the pounding.

Playing in the Rain

Toward the end of the Hanshaw reunion, it started pouring the rain. Braylon, JoLee, and I astonished the rest of the family by playing in the rain in spite of the very serious risk of "getting a cold" and the fact that we were "getting all wet".

Although we were apparently risking our health, we had a blast.

Braylon had some hops!

Braylon won the wet T-shirt contest.
By the end, they were exhausted, cold, and soaked...but we had a very good time!

As we were leaving, out popped this beautiful rainbow.

PaPaw Otto's Reunion

We all had a lot of fun at the PaPaw's Reunion this year. Here is Braylon's Great-Grandpa Otto and Great-Grandma Edith. This other picture is just PaPaw's branch of the family tree...missing my Uncle Dale and Aunt Kandy and their families.

Auntie April

Saturday was our 5th Anniversary. April volunteered (or maybe I volunteered her) to babysit. Andrew and I enjoyed the opportunity to have a date and Braylon loved getting spoiled by his Auntie April. April took Braylon to the park, where he played in the creek with sticks.

Then she took him to Barnes and Noble where she bought him a book and a little stuffed duckling and April reports Bray talked to everyone. After that they went to Block Buster, where Braylon picked out the same Lilo and Stitch movie that he has watched about 4 billion times on DVR. Once back to her place they made me and Drew a beautiful and tasty cake. Check out that cake...April has had two classes and she is already a professional. Braylon, of course picked out the blue and gold color scheme. Thanks Auntie April...it makes me tired just writing about all the fun you guys crammed into one day. I know Bray had a blast.

Yee-Haw

This morning when Braylon woke up, he took his builder (pull-up) off and started looking through his underwear drawer. He then announced that "all of those underwear are too small"...that he "grew bigger" and now he needs "Cowboy size underwear". He is such a nut! I have no idea where he comes up with some of this stuff. But while we are on the subject, (I hope I don't jinx him) Braylon has only had one accident in a week! It has been joyous in our household this week.
I have no picture so I'll post a flash back picture from his 1st Birthday.

Wow, he has grown!

Father's Day 2008

We spent Father's Day at Drew's parents in Spencer. We had a wonderful time. Mom and Dad were able to come and spend part of the weekend with us and Boo Boo cooked a ton of yummy food. The Weekley's bought a portable fire pit and we had a great time sitting around the fire Saturday evening. Braylon (as you can tell by how dirty he is), loved playing outside in the yard.
