Day 4: Monday, 6/10/13

Getting into the desert between Cortez, CO.  and Four Corners.

At Four Corners.  The nice man who offered to take a picture of all of us, made us turn to face the sun...makes for some nice faces on our part...hahaha.
Between Four Corners and the Grand Canyon.  A lot of it was Navajo Reservation.

Our first view of the Grand Canyon (South Rim).

Another interesting drive from the South Rim to the Kaibab Plateau and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

We didn't get a picture, but just before our campground on the North Rim, we got to see a coyote cross the road.  We turned around to try to get another look and saw him cross the road again and disappear into the forest.

Day 3: Sunday, 6/9/13

We were expecting mountains when we got into Colorado, but we had a few more hours of this.

Garden of the Gods....we are half way through our trip...and so far this has been my favorite place...I even liked it better than the Grand Canyon.

 Pikes Peak in the distance.

This one is called Kissing Camels

This is a Magpie, which I have heard of but had never seen before.  We thought they were so unusual and pretty, but as we are driving further west, we realize, they are pretty common out here.

 The Manitou Cliff Dwellings

The largest area...a spiritual ritual/ceremony room.
For some reason, Kate went a little gangsta in there.

 Grinding corn.

Not a planned sight, but on our way from Manitou Springs Colorado, toward Four Corners, we traveled through this beautiful area...we eventually got so high that we drove right by some of the snow that is still sticking around.

 This valley was so pretty.

Just past Durango and not far from New Mexico or Arizona, we boondocked in a nice little town called Cortez.  Beautiful mountains like this one were the backdrop behind nearly every store in the town.

Day 2: Saturday, 6/8/13

We boondocked at a WalMart our first night and Braylon and Kate both insisted on spending some of their money they had for "out west" in the WalMart store.  Kate got this newborn baby she named Missy since she got her in Missouri.  She loves her.  As I am writing, we are one week into the trip and Kate has been saying for days that she is ready to "go home to our house" because she "misses her babies" and she wants to "show Missy to her other babies."

Kansas is boring...you have to find something to pass the time....

Vaction Day 1: Friday, 6/7/13

The Gateway Arch, St. Louis Missouri

Waiting for our little door to open so we could get in our pod and go up.

We didn't realize until we got up there that the town was flooded.

Picked up our home on wheels in Eureka, MO.
