Signs of Spring

Playing in the sandbox.
Finding worms.
Easter egg tree.
And mowing the lawn with Daddy.

Just a preview of what we have been into...many, many, more to come.

Monster Dog

Lando's growing seems to have slowed somewhat lately...slowed, not stopped. I caught him stretched out on the couch the other night and couldn't believe how big he has gotten. He will be 9 months old next week. We haven't weighed him in awhile, but I am sure he is getting close to 60 pounds. This was a rare laying still moment.

He is such a pretty boy!

Farmer Braylon

Thursday when I picked Bray up from school his teacher Miss Mary Jo called me over. "Does Braylon have a lot of farm animals at home?" she asked. Then she went on to inform me that they had not heard Braylon speak an actual word at school all day...she reported that he participated, but that he only answered/commented with farm animal sounds...ALL DAY! Not one actual word! Braylon, who was standing by me during this conversation looked up at me and smiled his sweet little smile, shook his head yes, and then said "Mooo".

Here You Go, Mama

We have been in our new house since last August but we just got our bedroom painted and we finally got new bedroom furniture. My mama has been dying to see it, so here you go Mama.Braylon had to be in the picture and I know you probably cannot tell but he also had to hold up his toy bug to be in the picture too.Why does furniture always look so much bigger when you get it home? But we do love it and are very happy to finally be sleeping on a comfortable new mattress and for the first time in our married lives be able to fit all of our clothes in our bedroom.

God-a-mudder

One of our very favorite people in the whole world, April, usually comes to visit us on Thursday evenings. We eat dinner and watch our Thursday night TV together. But most of April's time is monopolized by Braylon. Braylon feels that April exists simply to do his bidding...maybe it is because she is the best Godmother ever and Bray knows that all he has to do is ask and if the request meets two criteria 1.) does not openly defy parents 2.) will not possibly cause Bray harm, April will oblige. The other day Drew was joking around and came up with a silly nickname for April and told Braylon to call her that. Braylon was very protective of his Auntie April and became upset by the suggestion..."No Dad! I will not call her that. April is my God-a-mudder!" One example of why Bray has the best God-a-mudder ever!

Oww, We Got the Funk...Gotta Get That Funk (gross picture alert)

I am glad to report that Braylon's funky toe is on the mend. This picture was taken about a week ago and believe it or not, this stage was a big improvement from what it looked like a few days prior (prompting me to take him to the doctor). What in the world would cause this, you ask? Well, as embarrassing as it is to report, I must confess my son chews his toe nails...I have only actually seen him do it once, but there has not been a toe nail long enough to trim in well over 6 months...he obviously chews them at night after I lay him down to bed...So gross! Anyway, this nasty little habit of his resulted in him chewing his toenail so short that it became infected. It was so funky that he had to be put on an oral antibiotic and we had to soak his toe and then apply a bacteria-fighting cream 4 times a day for days.
